Back to Belogradchik for a moment, but with a different light. As the sun dips below the horizon, the iron-rich rocks catch the glow in a way that feels almost surreal.

No filters needed when the Golden Hour does the work. It’s one of those rare moments where the landscape stops being just geology and starts looking like a masterpiece on canvas.

Photo or video? Usually, I’m team photo all the way, but Iceland’s rivers forced me to press the record button. Video isn't my main gig, but every now and then, I’ll be dropping some moving clips when the landscape demands it.
I’ve been to Iceland multiple times for different reasons, but this trip was all about zero planning. Our strategy? Whenever we saw something incredible, we just jumped out of the car. No schedule, no stress—just chasing the view. That’s exactly how we stumbled upon this spot! 🏔️🏃‍♂️

Captured this stunning view of the Belogradchik Rocks. These 200-meter high natural monoliths owe their striking red color to iron oxide pigments.🛰️❤️

It’s a classic example of how vertical erosion and varying rock hardness create a landscape that looks like it belongs on another planet. Seeing this from above helps to truly map out the structural lines of the Balkan Mountains.

Usually, when I fly in a nadir (top-down) pattern, I’m looking for overlap, GSD, and point cloud accuracy. But on that day, I was only looking for the perfect shade of autumn.

Back in 2023, during my first drone flight in Iceland, I headed to Litli-Hrútur. Even though the 'fire' had just paused, the cooling craters and rising steam offered a unique perspective on the aftermath of an eruption.
